Thank you for your help. you have a great service. Unfortuately the black canoe clip did not work. It is too big for the existing hole and not flexible enough to force into it. On another corner there is a white translucent pug and I have a strong feeling that a security screen door installer who also looked at my glass sliding door installed a white one which I may have recently dislodged.
In the meantime, I cannot find any white plugs/clips of similar dimensions.
So I thank you for your help with the black canoe clip.
